어떤 우주의 모습을 비춰줄까요?
우선, 사진부터 감상하시죠! 이 멋진 사진의 제목은 IC 4592: The Blue Horsehead Reflection Nebula 입니다.
NASA에서 공식적으로 제공한 설명을 보시죠. Do you see the horse's head? What you are seeing is not the famous Horsehead nebula toward Orion, but rather a fainter nebula that only takes on a familiar form with deeper imaging. The main part of the here-imaged molecular cloud complex is reflection nebula IC 4592. Reflection nebulas are made up of very fine dust that normally appears dark but can look quite blue when reflecting the visible light of energetic nearby stars. In this case, the source of much of the reflected light is a star at the eye of the horse. That star is part of Nu Scorpii, one of the brighter star systems toward the constellation of the Scorpion (Scorpius). A second reflection nebula dubbed IC 4601 is visible surrounding two stars above and to the right of the image center. 말의 머리가 보이나요? 지금 보시는 것은 오리온자리를 향한 유명한 말머리 성운이 아니라, 더 깊은 영상을 통해서만 친숙한 형태를 띠는 더 희미한 성운입니다. 여기서 영상화된 분자 구름 복합체의 주요 부분은 반사 성운 IC 4592이다. 반사성운은 보통 어두운 색으로 보이지만 가까운 별들의 가시광선을 반사할 때는 매우 푸른 색으로 보일 수 있는 매우 미세한 먼지로 이루어져 있다. 이 경우 반사되는 빛의 대부분은 말의 눈에 있는 별이다. 이 별은 전갈자리 방향으로 향하는 밝은 항성계 중 하나인 누 전갈자리의 일부이다. IC 4601이라고 불리는 두 번째 반사 성운은 이미지 중심의 오른쪽과 위에 있는 두 개의 별을 둘러싸고 있다. 우주의 다양한 모습은 아름답습니다~
