어떤 우주의 모습을 비춰줄까요?
우선, 사진부터 감상하시죠! 이 멋진 사진의 제목은 Magellanic Clouds over Chile 입니다.
NASA에서 공식적으로 제공한 설명을 보시죠. The two prominent clouds in this Chilean Atacama Desert skyscape captured on January 21 actually lie beyond our Milky Way galaxy. Known as the Large and the Small Magellanic Clouds they are so named for the 16th century Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan, leader of the first circumnavigation of planet Earth. Famous jewels of southern hemisphere skies, they are the brightest satellite galaxies of the Milky Way. The larger cloud is some 160,000 light-years, and the smaller 210,000 light-years distant. While both are irregular dwarf galaxies in their own right, they exhibit central barred structures in the deep wide-angle view. Wide and deep exposures also reveal faint dusty galactic cirrus nebulae and the imprints of gravitational tidal interactions between the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds. 1월 21일에 포착된 칠레 아타카마 사막의 두 눈에 띄는 구름은 실제로 우리 은하 너머에 있습니다. 이 구름들은 16세기 포르투갈의 탐험가 페르디난드 마젤란의 이름을 따서 명명되었다. 남반구 하늘의 유명한 보석들, 그것들은 우리 은하계에서 가장 밝은 위성 은하이다. 큰 구름은 약 16만 광년, 작은 구름은 21만 광년 떨어져 있다. 두 은하 모두 그 자체로 불규칙한 왜소은하이지만, 깊은 광각도에서 중심 막대 구조를 보여준다. 넓고 깊은 노출은 또한 희미한 먼지 은하 원 성운과 크고 작은 마젤란 구름 사이의 중력 조석 상호 작용의 흔적을 드러낸다. 우주의 다양한 모습은 아름답습니다~
