어떤 우주의 모습을 비춰줄까요?
우선, 사진부터 감상하시죠! 이 멋진 사진의 제목은 Pillars of Creation 입니다.
NASA에서 공식적으로 제공한 설명을 보시죠. A now famous picture from the Hubble Space Telescope featured these star forming columns of cold gas and dust light-years long inside M16, the Eagle Nebula, dubbed the Pillars of Creation. This James Webb Space Telescope NIRCam image expands Hubble's exploration of that region in greater detail and depth inside the iconic stellar nursery. Particularly stunning in Webb's near infrared view is the telltale reddish emission from knots of material undergoing gravitational collapse to form stars within the natal clouds. The Eagle Nebula is some 6,500 light-years distant. The larger bright emission nebula is itself an easy target for binoculars or small telescopes. M16 lies along the plane of our Milky Way galaxy in a nebula rich part of the sky, toward the split constellation Serpens Cauda (the tail of the snake). 허블 우주 망원경의 현재 유명한 사진에는 창조의 기둥으로 불리는 독수리 성운인 M16 안에 수 광년 길이의 차가운 가스와 먼지 기둥을 형성하는 이 별들이 등장했습니다. 이 제임스 웹 우주 망원경 NIRCam 이미지는 허블이 이 상징적인 항성 보육원 안에서 그 지역에 대한 탐사를 더 세부적이고 깊이 있게 확장한다. 웹의 근적외선 시야에서 특히 놀라운 것은 중력붕괴를 겪고 있는 물질 매듭에서 출생한 구름 안에 별을 형성하기 위해 나타나는 붉은색 방출이다. 독수리 성운은 약 6,500광년 떨어져 있다. 더 큰 밝은 방출 성운 자체는 쌍안경이나 작은 망원경의 쉬운 표적이 된다.
