어떤 우주의 모습을 비춰줄까요?
우선, 사진부터 감상하시죠! 이 멋진 사진의 제목은 Seven Dusty Sisters in Infrared 입니다.
NASA에서 공식적으로 제공한 설명을 보시죠. Is this really the famous Pleiades star cluster? Known for its iconic blue stars, the Pleiades is shown here in infrared light where the surrounding dust outshines the stars. Here three infrared colors have been mapped into visual colors (R=24, G=12, B=4.6 microns). The base images were taken by NASA's orbiting Wide Field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) spacecraft. Cataloged as M45 and nicknamed the Seven Sisters, the Pleiades star cluster is by chance situated in a passing dust cloud. The light and winds from the massive Pleiades stars preferentially repel smaller dust particles, causing the dust to become stratified into filaments, as seen. The featured image spans about 20 light years at the distance of the Pleiades, which lies about 450 light years distant toward the constellation of the Bull (Taurus). 이게 정말 유명한 플레이아데스 성단인가요? 상징적인 푸른 별들로 유명한 플레이아데스 산맥은 주변의 먼지들이 별들보다 더 빛나는 적외선 빛으로 이곳에서 보여집니다. 여기서 세 가지 적외선 색상이 시각적 색상(R=24, G=12, B=4.6 미크론)으로 매핑되었습니다. 이 사진들은 나사의 WISE(Wide Field Infrared Survey Explorer) 우주선에 의해 촬영되었습니다. 그리고 광활하며 거대합니다. 형형색색 변화하며 살아있는 듯한 느낌을 주네요~ 가볼 수는 없지만 이렇게 사진으로 볼 수 있어서 좋네요!
