우선, 사진부터 감상하시죠! 이 멋진 사진의 제목은 The Seagull Nebula 입니다.
NASA에서 공식적으로 제공한 설명을 보시죠. A broad expanse of glowing gas and dust presents a bird-like visage to astronomers from planet Earth, suggesting its popular moniker - The Seagull Nebula. Using narrowband image data, this 3-panel mosaic of the cosmic bird covers a 2.5 degree swath across the plane of the Milky Way, near the direction of Sirius, alpha star of the constellation Canis Major. Likely part of a larger shell structure swept up by successive supernova explosions, the broad Seagull Nebula is cataloged as Sh2-296 and IC 2177. The prominent bluish arc below and right of center is a bow shock from runaway star FN Canis Majoris. This complex of gas and dust clouds with other stars of the Canis Majoris OB1 association spans over 200 light-years at the Seagull Nebula's estimated 3,800 light-year distance. 광활한 가스와 먼지가 지구에서 온 천문학자들에게 새와 같은 모습을 보여주며, 이는 인기 있는 별명인 갈매기 성운을 암시합니다. 협대역 이미지 데이터를 사용하여, 이 우주 새의 3 패널 모자이크는 큰개자리 알파 별인 시리우스의 방향 근처에 있는 우리 은하의 평면을 가로질러 2.5도의 폭을 덮고 있다. 연속적인 초신성 폭발에 휩쓸린 더 큰 껍질 구조의 일부일 가능성이 큰 갈매기 성운은 Sh2-296과 IC 2177로 분류된다. 중심부 아래와 오른쪽에서 두드러지는 푸른빛의 호는 도망친 별 FN 카니스 마조리스의 활에 의한 충격이다. 큰개자리 OB1 성협의 다른 별들과 가스 및 먼지 구름의 복합체는 갈매기 성운에서 약 3,800 광년 거리에 걸쳐 있다. 우주의 다양한 모습은 아름답습니다~
