어떤 우주의 모습을 비춰줄까요?
우선, 사진부터 감상하시죠! 이 멋진 사진의 제목은 Halloween and the Wizard Nebula 입니다.
NASA에서 공식적으로 제공한 설명을 보시죠. Halloween's origin is ancient and astronomical. Since the fifth century BC, Halloween has been celebrated as a cross-quarter day, a day halfway between an equinox (equal day / equal night) and a solstice (minimum day / maximum night in the northern hemisphere). With a modern calendar however, even though Halloween occurs today, the real cross-quarter day will occur next week. Another cross-quarter day is Groundhog Day. Halloween's modern celebration retains historic roots in dressing to scare away the spirits of the dead. Perhaps a fitting tribute to this ancient holiday is this closeup view of the Wizard Nebula (NGC 7380). Visually, the interplay of stars, gas, and dust has created a shape that appears to some like a fictional ancient sorcerer. Although the nebula may last only a few million years, some of the stars being conjured from the gas by the great gravitational powers may outlive our Sun. 할로윈의 기원은 고대와 천문학적이다. 기원전 5세기 이래로 할로윈은 추분(낮과 밤이 같음)과 동지(북반구에서 낮과 밤이 같음)의 중간에 해당하는 교차일로 기념되어 왔다. 그러나 현대 달력으로는 할로윈이 오늘 발생하더라도 진짜 교차하는 날은 다음 주에 발생할 것이다. 또다른 교차 분기의 날은 그라운드호그의 날이다. 할로윈의 현대 기념행사는 죽은 사람들의 영혼을 쫓아내기 위한 복장에 역사적인 뿌리를 두고 있다. 아마도 이 고대 휴일에 대한 적절한 헌사는 마법사 성운(NGC 7380)의 클로즈업 뷰일 것이다. 시각적으로는 별과 가스, 먼지의 상호작용이 가상의 고대 마법사처럼 보이는 모양을 만들어냈다. 성운은 몇 백만 년 밖에 지속되지 않을 수 있지만, 거대한 중력에 의해 기체로부터 마법에 걸린 별들 중 일부는 우리 태양보다 오래 살 수도 있다. 우주의 다양한 모습은 아름답습니다~
그리고 광활하며 거대합니다. 형형색색 변화하며 살아있는 듯한 느낌을 주네요~ 가볼 수는 없지만 이렇게 사진으로 볼 수 있어서 좋네요!
