어떤 우주의 모습을 비춰줄까요?
우선, 사진부터 감상하시죠! 이 멋진 사진의 제목은 The Fornax Cluster of Galaxies 입니다.
NASA에서 공식적으로 제공한 설명을 보시죠. Named for the southern constellation toward which most of its galaxies can be found, the Fornax Cluster is one of the closest clusters of galaxies. About 62 million light-years away, it's over 20 times more distant than our neighboring Andromeda Galaxy, but only about 10 percent farther along than the better known and more populated Virgo Galaxy Cluster. Seen across this three degree wide field-of-view, almost every yellowish splotch on the image is an elliptical galaxy in the Fornax cluster. Elliptical galaxies NGC 1399 and NGC 1404 are the dominant, bright cluster members toward the bottom center. A standout, large barred spiral galaxy, NGC 1365, is visible on the upper right as a prominent Fornax cluster member. 대부분의 은하를 발견할 수 있는 남쪽 별자리에서 이름을 따온 포낙스 성단은 가장 가까운 은하단 중 하나이다. 약 6,200만 광년 떨어져 있으며, 이웃한 안드로메다 은하보다 20배 이상 더 멀리 떨어져 있지만, 더 잘 알려져 있고 인구가 더 많은 처녀자리 은하단보다 불과 10% 더 멀리 떨어져 있다. 이 3도 너비의 시야를 가로질러 볼 때, 이미지에 있는 거의 모든 노란 점들은 포낙스 성단에 있는 타원 은하이다. 타원은하 NGC 1399와 NGC 1404는 중심부를 향해 있는 밝은 은하단들이다. 오른쪽 상단에는 눈에 띄는 큰 막대나선은하 NGC 1365가 눈에 띄는 포르낙스 성단 멤버로 보인다. 우주의 다양한 모습은 아름답습니다~
그리고 광활하며 거대합니다. 형형색색 변화하며 살아있는 듯한 느낌을 주네요~ 가볼 수는 없지만 이렇게 사진으로 볼 수 있어서 좋네요!
