우선, 사진부터 감상하시죠! 이 멋진 사진의 제목은 The Cygnus Wall of Star Formation 입니다.
NASA에서 공식적으로 제공한 설명을 보시죠. The North America nebula on the sky can do what the North America continent on Earth cannot -- form stars. Specifically, in analogy to the Earth-confined continent, the bright part that appears as Central America and Mexico is actually a hot bed of gas, dust, and newly formed stars known as the Cygnus Wall. The featured image shows the star forming wall lit and eroded by bright young stars, and partly hidden by the dark dust they have created. The part of the North America nebula (NGC 7000) shown spans about 15 light years and lies about 1,500 light years away toward the constellation of the Swan (Cygnus). 하늘에 있는 북아메리카 성운은 지구의 북아메리카 대륙이 할 수 없는 것을 할 수 있습니다. -- 별을 형성합니다. 구체적으로, 지구로 둘러싸인 대륙에 비유하자면, 중앙 아메리카와 멕시코로 보이는 밝은 부분은 사실 백조자리 벽으로 알려진 가스, 먼지, 그리고 새로 형성된 별들의 온상입니다. 이 사진은 밝은 젊은 별들에 의해 빛을 발하고 침식되어 벽을 형성하는 것을 보여주며, 부분적으로 그들이 만들어낸 어두운 먼지에 의해 가려진다. 북아메리카 성운의 일부(NGC 7000)는 약 15광년에 걸쳐 있으며 백조자리 방향으로 약 1,500광년 떨어져 있다. 우주의 다양한 모습은 아름답습니다~
