강영권 에디슨모터스 회장은 22일 오전 11시 열린 비대면 기자회견에서

"쌍용차는 자금만 투자해 회생할 수 없고 재벌에 인수되더라도 회사를 살릴 수 없다"고 말했습니다.

 

이미 중국 상하이차, 인도 마힌드라 등 기존 쌍용차를 인수한 글로벌 대기업들이

대규모 자본 투입에 실패했기 때문에 새로운 해법이 필요하다는 분석입니다.

강영권 회장은 쌍용차를 전기차 기업으로 전환해야 회생할 수 있다고 주장했습니다.

이 과정에서 에디슨자동차가 10년간 전기버스 생산 노하우와 기술을 제공할 수 있고,

부품 공급망을 갖추고 있어 양사가 큰 시너지 효과를 낼 수 있다는 게 쌍용차의 주장이니

그 시너지 효과가 제대로 빠른 시일 안에 나타나길 응원하겠습니다.

강영권 회장은 "쌍용차의 전기차는 1회 충전시 주행거리가 306㎞에 불과해 경쟁력이 없다"며

"에디슨자동차의 11톤 전기버스는 475㎞를 주행해 쌍용차나 SUV에 쉽게 설계, 적용할 수 있다"고

전망하고 있습니다.

에디슨모터스는 내년 여름까지 기본 전기차 주행거리를 450~550㎞,

휠베이스가 긴 렉스턴과 무쏘는 600~800㎞로 대폭 늘릴 계획입니다.

이 밖에 내년 전기차 10대, 2025년 20대, 2030년 30대 신차를 출시해

2030년까지 약 10조원의 매출 창출이 기대된다고 전망하고 있습니다.

강영권 회장은 "쌍용차의 생산능력과 생산기술에 우리 기술을 접목해

폭스바겐, 도요타, 테슬라와 당당히 경쟁하겠다"며

인수 후 4,000~5,000억원의 운영자금을 조성해 총 8,000억원을 조달할 계획이라고 합니다.

약 7000억~8000억원의 대출을 받아

총 1조5000억원을 확보해 경영 정상화에 나설 계획입니다.

강영권 회장은 "산업은행이 회생계획을 제대로 보고 기술이 있다는 것을 이해한다면 반드시 지원할 것"이라며

"그렇지 않더라도 미국,일본 등 시중은행에서 대출을 받을 수 있다"며

"이미 기술이 있기 때문에 개발투자비를 75% 절감할 수 있다"고 말했습니다.

그는 "의심하는 사람들이 많지만 우리는 자신감을 가진 회사입니다.

강영권 회장은 전기요트와 선박, 자율주행차, 전기드론 등

다양한 모빌리티 분야 진출 계획도 공개했습니다.

 

더불어, 강영권 회장은 "자율주행차, 로봇, 요트, 드론 등을 통합 개발하는 것이 세계적 추세"라며

"궁극적으로 승용차뿐만 아니라 충전시스템 등 통합 서비스를 제공하는 기업으로 도약하기 위해 준비하고 있다"고

"소형·경형·중형·대형차가 가능한 만큼 디자인과 성능, 합리적인 가격을 갖춘 자동차를 만들겠다"며

"현대적이지 않은 것이 있다면 6개월 이내에 깔끔하게 수리하겠다"고 강조했습니다.

CEO Kang argued that Ssangyong Motor must be converted into an electric vehicle company to revive. In the process, Edison Motors can provide the know-how and technology of producing electric buses for 10 years, and Ssangyong Motor claims that the two companies can have a great synergy effect because it has a part supply chain.

CEO Kang said, "Ssangyong Motor's electric car has a driving distance of only 306 kilometers per charge, so it is not competitive," adding, "Edison Motors' 11-ton electric bus goes 475 kilometers, which can be easily designed and applied to Ssangyong Motor's cars or SUVs."

Edison Motors plans to significantly increase the mileage of basic electric vehicles to 450 to 550 kilometers by next summer and 600 to 800 kilometers for Rexton and Mousseau, which have long wheel bases. In addition, it is expected to generate about 10 trillion won in sales by 2030 by releasing 10 new electric vehicles next year, 20 in 2025, and 30 in 2030.

CEO Kang said, "We will proudly compete with Volkswagen, Toyota, and Tesla by combining our technology with the production capacity and production technology of Ssangyong Motor," adding, "We will make no mistakes through leadership management like Steve Jobs and Elon Musk."

CEO Kang expressed confidence that there is no problem with public concerns such as restructuring and securing funds. In particular, regarding the reduction of the number of people, he drew a line, saying, "All employees of Ssangyong Motor have started to take over a happy and enjoyable and healthy home," adding, "I have no intention of exploiting or exploiting." Restructuring is not a solution, he said. "We need to boost sales to turn into a surplus, but we may have to hire more people to do so."

Regarding securing funds, he was also convinced that he could receive financial support from the Korea Development Bank, Ssangyong Motor's main creditor. Edison Motors has so far offered 300 to 400 billion won in acquisition funds, and plans to raise 400 to 500 billion won in operating funds after the acquisition to raise a total of 800 billion won. It plans to normalize its management by securing a total of 1.5 trillion won by taking out loans of about 700 to 800 billion won with Ssangyong Motor's assets as collateral from the Korea Development Bank.

CEO Kang said, "If the Korea Development Bank sees our rehabilitation plan properly and understands that we have technology, we will definitely support it," adding, "Even if not, we can get loans from commercial banks such as the U.S. and Japan." "Because we already have technology, we can reduce development investment costs by 75 percent," he said adding, "There are many people who are suspicious, but we are a company with confidence.

CEO Kang also unveiled plans to enter various mobility fields such as electric yachts and ships, self-driving cars, and electric drones. CEO Kang said, "The global trend is to develop self-driving cars, robots, yachts, and drones integrated," adding, "We are ultimately preparing to become a company that provides integrated services such as charging systems as well as passenger cars."

At the end of the press conference, CEO Kang emphasized, "We will make cars with good design, performance, and reasonable price as they are capable of small, light, medium, and large vehicles," adding, "If there is anything that is not modern, we will fix them neatly within six months."
